Each Blowdryer is tested for:
The following measurements are collected on each blowdryer:
Blower Output
The most heavily weighted factor in our judgement of blow dryers is the
ability to move air. Too many times has our family brought home what we
felt would be a good hair dryer, only to be dissappointed in the overall
"blowing capacity". We have developed our own custom test fixture in which
we test every model. The test fixture has been calibrated with industry
standard tools to ensure accuracy.
Heat Output
While in our general experience, we felt heat output was adequate on most
models, we felt it beneficial to quantify this feature as well. Temperature
measurements are made at a distance of eight inches from the end of the dryer.

Blow Dryer Results
A significant problem with dryers is overheating. We perform two different
tests for overheating:
Our life test is done by timing the running of the blow dryer on high fan and high heat until
failure. If the failure is recoverable, the unit is run again on a timed test
with the fan set to high and the temperature set to medium and the time of failure
recorded.
The weight is collected in grams to an accuracy of +/- one gram.
The length hight and width are recorded in inches.
The cost of purchase is recorded in USD.
